LocoMotoArt at Taltow Park - Ten artists from the LMA Collective exhibited 9 sound and visual installations in Tatlow Park on a beautiful warm summer evening on August 18, 2013. Over 100 people attended this exhibition, including residents of this Kitsilano neighbourhood, those who attended last year's exhibition in the same park, and those who had become aware of our work via the major exhibition at Queen Elizabeth Park last month. We had some terrific feedback: People remarked how “magical” it was. This is a term that was also used during our Queen Elizabeth exhibition. Other comments are: “Wow!", “This is so interesting”, “Thank you!", “This is amazing!” and “Fantastic”. Regarding reaction to Miles Thorogood’s sound installation:
In response to Dave Leith’s work: "It sounded like the ocean and was very organic in there and I didn't want to distract you even to say hello. I had a friend from sound design with me who also really liked it. I wish there could be longer festival for art that was there". On a beautiful, warm summer evening 400+ attended the LocoMotoArt Collective outdoor show at one of Vancouver's crown jewels - Queen Elizabeth Park. Celebrating Youth, Technology and Nature, this free family-friendly exhibition, featuring 13 visual projections, audio, sound art and interactive new media works were exhibited and performed in the large quarry, highlighting sustainable practices with technology.
